The PMHA does not have emergency housing.
Applications are taken at the Administrative Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Afternoon appointments may be scheduled upon request or you can apply on-line through our website at any time.
PMHA Board Meeting is held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Hudson House Community Room, 610 Fifth Street, Portsmouth, Ohio
You may apply for all programs and be on all waiting lists. Should you be assisted by one program first be sure to keep your address updated with the other programs.
The amount of time varies depending on the number of applicants on the waiting list and the availability of housing.
We conduct a criminal background check for every person on the application who is 18 years of age or older. Not everyone has to be fingerprinted. If the background check indicates that the individual has a criminal record then fingerprints will be required. If you need to be fingerprinted we will notify you by letter. We do fingerprinting at our Security Office located on the south side of the Hudson House Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at no cost to you.
When applying for our programs bring social security cards, birth certificates and current proof of income for all household members.
Households cannot rent from immediate family members unless there is a reasonable accommodation.
